|
|
In the last few overs of the test tonight, Ramdin hit the last ball of the over to try and get a single and keep the strike. As it was he hit it too hard and it went for 4 so he was at the non-strikers end.
Question: If it had not rolled all the way to the boundary, is there a rule to stop the fielder kicking it over the rope anyway ?

| Granted it's not in the spirit of the game, and if it was done in a village game you'd expect to be lynched by the opposition, but is there technically a rule against it ? |

| Its sort of got most of the rules of the game to do with it, I think the MCC spirit of cricket book would have something to say about. Which is basically the law book for cricket |

I believe Law 19 section 6 covers this.
Wilful act of fielder will mean they get the boundary plus the single. _________________ Diablo is dead...long live CHAOS!! |

Thank you. It is such a rarity that it just got me thinking if a rule had been created.
I need to memorise my book of rules in more detail.
