I will add my contribution - I think 8 runs.
7 completed runs plus one for the wide.

| I agree with 8. Seven completed runs and the wide (it would have been 9 if the batsmen had crossed for their eighth run). As a matter of interest does anybody know how the runs should be scored in the scorebook? Runs for the striker, penalty runs, wides or byes or a combination of any/all of these? |

i'll leave to read law 20 Lost ball for the answer
Scratcher 8: How many pieces of wood are required to make two sets of wickets?
and
Scratcher 9: The last hour of a match begins at 6.30pm. At 6.43, after 4.2 overs have been bowled it rains and the players leave the field; play restarts at 6.51, but after another 6 overs and 3 balls have been bowled, there is anotherstoppage (lasting 4 minutes) for rain at 7.09. What is the minimum number of balls which remain to be bowled?
may not be online much over the weekend so i'll leave you with these two and i'm struggling with the scratchers 9!!!! so best of luck _________________ Martin H.

Q7 1-wides (8 wides from one ball, sounds like a Rushy over).
There isn't a section for lost ball in a scorebook and runs relating to a lost ball are not penalty runs.
Q8 I would agree with Mark with 20 (12 stumps and 8 bails)
Q9 37 balls
4.2 overs bowled
allowance of 2.0 overs for first rain delay
6.3 overs bowled
allowance of 1.0 over for second rain delay.
Gives total of 13.5 overs bowled
Take away from minimum of 20 overs that have to be bowled in last hour
Gives 6.1 overs or 37 balls.
