Fantasy Cricket 2009 was launched this morning with handouts of the player values and the rules in detail.

I hope the same info will be appearing on the website as soon as possible.

The budget is tight, and that is done specially so that we hopefully don't get everyone sending in the same team.  I expect most people will have to put in a couple of people they hadn't planned on, but such is the way with village cricket !

I have tried to account for availability as much as possible

Any new players will be added in once I have enough information to make a really bad guess at their value.  The moment I have decided on the wrong cost I will let you know.

Can people please let me know, preferably not publicly through the forum, any details on the new players - like have they signed membership forms, how often will they be available, and in some cases what is their surname ?

In the meantime, here are the prices as of this morning.

The budget is £5.   You have to choose 6 batsmen (1 of them as your nominated keeper), 3 All rounders and 2 bowlers.

It's league and cup games only (not the 20/20 cup).
1 point per run with 10 bonus points for every 50 in an innings.
15 points per wicket with -0.1 per run against, and 20 bonus points per 5 wicket haul
10 points per catch or stumping
-5 points for a duck (unless you are a specialist bowler)

Enjoy

Restricting your choices in this way gives 1 or 2 players more chance of being selected - otherwise you would pick all rounders over bowlers if you don't know much about the players ability or availability.
Also it is more realistic.  It reflects the skills those players are selected in real teams for, so everyones final fantasy 11 should be a balanced side in terms of batsmen to bowlers.

Download of rules and entry form now available on the Competitions page.

Team sheet includes team calculator, to make life a little easier.

Prices will be given to new players who have signed membership forms by the end of the last net session this Sunday.  Anyone joining after that will be available from the 1st transfer window.

At the end of nets this year the only new player not on the fantasy cricket list, but who had signed a membership form, was Paul Sistig

Allocated price is 45p

This is based on this being 1/11 th of your team budget, and also an estimate on what I can see in the nets.   This has as much chance of being as right or wrong as anybody else, so please don't complain.

As before, anyone else not on the list of players now will be available for selecting at the 1st transfer window after signing a membership form.

I will try and get an updated team form on the website as soon as possible.

What do you class Paul Sistig as is he a bowler batsmen or allrounder?

Sorry, forgot to put that on.  Realised afterwards and was expecting the question.

He is down as an all rounder

Remember, teams to be back to a member of the committee by start of play 2nd May 2009.
Although, if you are certain of your team, I am quite happy to receive your team details by e-mail or private message anytime between now and then - spreads the workload for me a bit.
Forms still to be handed in by 2nd May though, to ensure all details are correct.

I know a few teams have already been created, but the more the merrier.

For those who don't know it looks like at least 2 more people will be added to the list of available players at the first transfer window.

Only a few days to go.

Please feel free to send me a private message of your team so I can start getting the teams recorded.

Now the full 3 teams for Saturday are agreed, you have the best idea of who to pick.

We have a full range of people being picked already, but also some very regular players not getting a look in at all yet.

If I have your 11 players by 1.30 Saturday then the official form and £5 can follow.

Hope to hear from you soon.
